At the Cloth Spot we aim to provide you with the prettiest and most cuddliest spots of fabric that can be sent to your WAHM of choice or to you to sew up a storm and cuddle.

We provide a wide selection of both imported and local fabric catering to every need and satisfying every request as well as adapting to every budget. We specialise in more character based prints and love seeing colours and nostalgia come together in a blend of beautiful fabric. 

Fabric Bases

Import Bases 

• Cotton Lycra is considered to be a knit fabric with a combination of either cotton and spandex or lycra in small amounts. It is ideal for clothing, nappies, mamacloth and so much more. It is known for its amazing stretch and recovery making it the ideal fabric for most items.

• Minky is a special kind of plush fabric with an incredibly soft feel to it. It is generally made from 100% polyester. There are two types of minky, one sided minky holds the plush feel on one side and has less stretch, while double sided minky has the plush feel on both sides and is more stretchy. This fabric is ideal for blankets, clothing, nappies and winter products.

• Cotton Woven is a very durable fabric. It has less stretch than cotton lycra but is still widely used for clothing, table cloths and more. It is said that cotton woven holds colour for longer and is more vibrant.

• Swim is generally made of nylon and lycra or spandex. It holds colour for much longer than cotton lycra and is the perfect fabric for swim wear, nappies and athletic wear. Most of our import swim holds a 50SPF unless stated otherwise.

Local Bases

• Soft Knit is a light weight stretchable fabric. it is known for its ability to be easily printed on due to the lightness of the fabric. It is incredibly soft. 

• Soft Shell is a water resistant but very breathable fabric, It is often a warmer fabric used for wintery items and holds some stretch to it. Due to its resistance to water it is ideal for nappies.

• Yori is a polyester fabric with a high elasticity and shape recovery. it is soft and breathable and naturally moisture wicking, pilling and abrasion resistant and therefore ideal for high performance sportswear like pegs, leggings and swimwear.
• Fleece is a synthetic fabric that mimics the properties of wool. it is highly breathable, soft to the touch and ideal for outdoor clothing and blankets.

• Vinyl is a synthetic technical fabric engineered to be used in so many ways as a highly durable fabric. This is ideal for bags, wallets and things alike. It is also a more wipeable fabric making it suitable for products requiring this factor.

Please note: this is only the sizing on our designs and preorders - this is not always the case on import fabrics as each fabric house uses their own measurements and therefore sizing on import spots is 56x46cm.

What is a panel?

What is the difference between panels and spots?

Panels normally have an image that is the main focus of that fabric. We have different kinds coming in various sizes.

Nappy Panel - Top Left

This is mainly used for nappies (however this panel is sometimes ideal for scrundies too). They mainly consist of 2 half’s - one has the main image, the other has the main print so that the front and back look different. We have a OSFM (One Size Fits Most) size available as well as New Born sizes.

Panel - Top Middle

These panels can be used on bags, shirts hoodies etc. This mainly consists of one central image. This is available in Small Kid, Medium Kid, Big Kid and Adult sizes (please see size charts in the announcements for exact measurements of each).

MC Panel - Top Right

These are Mama Cloth Panels ideal for menstrual cloth or even panels for smaller bags and accents. These only come in one size. (Please note the print normally fills a full block we don’t print to this shape so it can also be used for taggies etc)

Main Print - Bottom

This is the main print of the fabric which consists of images put together. This can only be purchased in spots or meters, however we can size them into mc panels as well. These are ideal for just about anything and with these you don’t necessarily need a panel to accompany it.
